We are searching for a talented Legal Counsel to assist and take ownership of data protection and contract management tasks in our fast-growing, award-winning company. The ideal candidate will be a business-oriented lawyer with excellent legal knowledge, negotiation skills and a solution-oriented attitude. You’ll be a key member of the team and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on company standards and procedures.

THE ROLE

As a Legal Counsel in Better Collective, you will be part of a talented, skilled and very ambitious team. You will project-manage our GDPR compliance initiatives and help drive our contract lifecycle process. You will be working most closely with the subjects of data protection, commercial law, advertising, e-commerce and gambling law.

The successful candidate will work towards elevation to the role of Data Protection Officer for the company and maintain an overview of data protection compliance across our five offices. Better Collective will sponsor the successful candidate through CIPM and CIPP/E training courses to ensure the candidate’s successful preparation for this role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project manage our GDPR initiatives with support from our existing compliance team.
  • Align with internal and external stakeholders on data protection policies and processes.
  • Drive the contract lifecycle from negotiation through to contract execution, including managing contract change control processes and related correspondence requiring legal input.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of contract templates, contract policy, legal risk and liability, and company position on various matters.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Cand.jur with deposited or currently valid “advokatbestalling”, or equivalent international legal qualification.
  • 3+ years post-qualification experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house with an IT or marketing company.
  • An understanding of EU data protection legislation.
  • Strong legal drafting and contract management skills.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Fluency in both Danish and English with impeccable writing skills in both languages.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a service minded attitude to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and business partners.
  • An ability to translate complex legal concepts into simple language and clear action plans.
  • An eye for accuracy and be highly detail-oriented.
  • Good administrative and presentation skills.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
  • The ability to adapt and an eagerness to learn.
